The electrothermal heater turns on automatically when humidity sensors detect ice formation.
Warm air circulates inside the optical module, preventing fogging.
The compressed air purge system periodically cleans the exterior window.
The hydrophobic coating repels water, preventing it from freezing.

Compensation:

Materials behave differently at very low temperatures. The processor uses a built-in thermistor to monitor the temperature and automatically adjusts the calibration coefficients to ensure that the readings remain accurate.

At an altitude of 3000−4500 meters, the system faces other problems.

Problem:
Intense ultraviolet radiation interferes with the microbolometer.

Solution:
The UV-absorbing protective coating on the window blocks UV rays.
Special filtering in the electronic part suppresses UV noise.
The built-in barometer measures atmospheric pressure and determines altitude.
The processor uses this information to correct the readings.

Compensation:
At altitude, the air is thin, which affects the heat exchange of objects. The system knows the altitude and can adjust its expectations about how quickly the temperature of objects should change.

On a ship or in a port, the system operates in salty air and high humidity conditions.

The problem:
Salt corrodes metal, water damages electronics, pitching and vibration destroy components.

Decision:
The 316L stainless steel case is corrosion resistant.
All connectors and electrical connections are protected from moisture.
Vibration dampers soften shocks and vibrations.
Special sealing materials are resistant to salt corrosion.

Work on the move:
On a moving ship, the system is constantly being calibrated because vibration can dislodge optical elements. The built-in sensors regularly check and correct the alignment.

In conditions of high humidity and heat.

Problem:
Mold and bacteria grow on all surfaces, moisture gets inside, and electronics overheat.

Solution:
Antifungal coatings on all surfaces, especially on optics.
Air circulation prevents the accumulation of moisture.
Removable desiccant filters are regularly replaced.
The built-in ventilation system operates continuously in conditions of maximum humidity.

Monitoring:
Humidity sensors constantly check the environment. If humidity is critical, the system can disable non-critical functions to reduce heating.
